The idea for The Moms Co. came to Malika Sadani in 2012, a banker-turned-entrepreneur and a Mom of 2, when she moved back to India from London and couldn’t find safe, natural products for her daughters.

An engineer by education and a banker by profession, Malika started The Moms Co. recently in 2017 to address a huge gap in the Indian industry that required toxin free products for pre-natal and post-natal consumption and which could also benefit people who are more conscious about their daily skin care routine.

 

An expert in her own right, Malika feels she has always been an obsessive mother and there are enough moms like her who want the best for themselves and their babies, who hate having to compromise on the safety of the products they use for themselves and their family.

She believes with The Moms Co. she has embarked on a mission to help moms in India and across the world make safe, natural and effective choices for themselves and their loved ones. The idea behind getting The Moms Co. to this accessible market was to take forward what our mothers would have done to take care of us and what all of us would want to do for the best of our baby and our own well-being”

The Moms Co. has raised 2 rounds of funding so far with an angel investment round in 2016 and a Pre Series-A round in 2017. The last round was a USD 1mn investment by renowned FMCG investors Saama Capital and DSG Partners. They will soon expand the product range to launch Baby Care products as well.

The Moms Co aims to target the INR 2,940 crore baby care and pre and post natal care market of India that is expected to rise at a CAGR of 8% by 2021.

The Moms Co. has tied up with Amazon India in order to expand their retail presence as well as benefit from the global interest that has garnered in natural and toxin free products. 

Baby Care is one of the strongest growing categories in multiple marketplaces like – Amazon, Flipkart, Ebay etc
The brand is also planning to expand domestic presence through modern retail stores, multi brand outlets, general trade and exploring tie-ups with major retail chains. 
The company today has 11 stores in premium hospitals across Delhi-NCR and Bangalore .

TMC has crossed 50000 customers and continues to grow over 20% month on month.  A large percentage of their regular customers come back within a few months of purchase, largely driven by strong product feedback as well.
